No I’ve not seen this film and don’t particularly wish to, but it’s jsut a fitting title as today I spent most of the afternoon on the back of D’s motorbike. I went to meet him in Leeds and we went on a quest for a fancy dress costume for the party tonight (leaving it last minute eh!). Then he gave me a lift home on the bike and although I will never drive a motorbike meself it was such an amazing feeling on the back of it. I loved it! It was always on my list of stuff to do in my lifetime, so now I can cross it off ![]()
Last week I had my 19th birthday. Really it was the best birthday ever and that’s all I have to say about it.
I go to uni 5 weeks today. I’ve been counting down the days/weeks for a while now, really can’t wait. Still have a lot of stuff to sort out but it’s all nicely under control. Gonna order my computer next week and will have a trip to Ikea to stock up on things I need. Today I sorted through my things from travelling, all my bits and bobs of memorabilia I saved and carried around with me. Train reservations, entry tickets, receipts, postcards, etc. So many memories. I felt really nostalgic. It’s been 2 and a half months since I’ve been back, that’s almost as long as I was away for. It’s really flown by sinc I’ve been back, I think that’s a good thing. Really enjoying life at the mo (well, as always). My DS is gathering dust, I don’t feel the need to play it anymore. It bores me. I enjoy reading, and studying, I’m not ashamed to say. K and I are attempting to learn Italian ha. It’s fun! I turn a year older in 2 days time. My brother is moving out tomorrow. I rode in a brand new red Mini Cooper yesterday, that was awesome! I so want one. Lucy leaves England in 8 days. We have the day together on Monday and I have a surprise up my sleeve for her
I need to buy some red shoes so I can look like Dorothy. It’s my daddy’s birthday today. I’m so excited about uni, though it’s gonna be weird at first. Dunno where I’ll be living yet, should find out in the next week or two. We found the greatest place to be. The sun was finally out today. Hope it stays. I dunno what I’m writing really. H has left work now, was her leaving do on Thursday night which was fun. I love Jaegermeister bombs! I had a mini birthday cake yesterday from B. I blew out the candle and made a wish. And there’s nothing I hope more than for it to come true. I love my hair being lately, I change it daily. My room is tidy. I’m really loving The National as well. Went to see Mamma Mia and The Dark Knight. The former was ace and the latter was boring. Though I might go see it again as it’s on at the IMAX and that would be pretty cool. I suppose I should get used to having no money soon. God I can’t wait to be a student again!
Today was on and off rain all day. I put lots of clothes out on the line to dry, but had to get them in and put them back out about six times. It’s strangely therapeutic. In-between I listened to the Cure all day and studied German. We had a barbecue this evening as the rain gave up and left us alone. I’m back in my Myspace editing mode, I have changed that around about five times today already. I am loving Ravens & Chimes at the minute and their cover of Leonard Cohen. I am loving Wolf Parade more than ever too. It’s a nice night.
oh it’s opening time down on fascination street so let’s cut the conversation and get out for a bit because i feel it all fading and paling and i’m begging to drag you down with me to kick the last nail in yeah! i like you in that, like i like you to scream but if you open your mouth then i can’t be responsible for quite what goes in or to care what comes out so just pull on your hair, just pull on your pout and let’s move to the beat like we know that it’s over if you slip going under slip over my shoulder. so just pull on your face, just pull on your feet and let’s hit opening time down on fascination street
so pull on your hair, pull on your pout, cut the conversation just open your mouth. pull on your face, pull on your feet and let’s hit opening time down on fascination street
Funny how it’s nearly the end of July already. In just under a month’s time I’ll be a year older. In two months time exactly I’ll have arrived at uni in the morning and be settling in.
Might go and see Wall-E tomorrow.
It’s Saturday evening and we’re preparing for a barbecue. I’ve had a good week and a great weekend so far. I feel like I’ve done so much this week, it’s passed pretty quickly. On Wednesday night I was invited out for an evening out with a workmate so that was nice. Thursday passed without much ado, and Friday was spent relaxing, getting praise at work (hehe) and then rushing home afterwards to quickly shower and get ready for a night with Lucy. Went over to her place about half 6ish, we talked for about 7 hours nonstop, cooked food inbetween, watched a film in bed but we fell asleep halfway through. A thoroughly perfect evening.
Today, Saturday, we got up at 7am and went off to Leeds dead early as she had an opticians appointment. That was over quickly so we grabbed a coffee and a snack and again talked for ages, and planned my trip to Thailand next year! We’ve decided I should come in the Summer, I originally was going to hook up with Emily and Becky who are visiting at Easter, but it would be better to go by myself for 4 weeks in the SUmmer when both Lucy and I have finished exams/uni and can spend a month together trekking around Thailand, Cambodia, Lao and maybe Vietnam. It sounds so perfect. I think I already have most of the jabs from when I visited China, but I’ll check up on that of course
I am so excited! It’s like pretty much a year off, still, but ooh exciting times.
Anyhow after that we went shopping, I discovered there is an Urban Outfitters opened in Leeds so we spent AGES in there (sales, y’know) and I ended up buying an expensive dress which is absolutely gorgeous:

(That’s me in the pic)
I also got a top in the sale, and I nearly bought some dead cute shoes and a dead cute bag but I have to hold back somehow! From thereon in I spent more money on a bag and top elsewhere, and a nice big photo album from Paperchase to make an album of my Europe photos. We had lunch and complained about the heat. God I could talk to Lucy for days on end. Where in the world would I be without her???
Right, off to barbecue. Can’t drink yet as must drive later to pick up brother. Drink later.
