And it’s off to France I go…

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

For what will hopefully not be the last time this year, I’m all packed and set to go to France. However right now i’s just a nice relaxing holiday with my family. Next time it’ll hopefully be me moving there :)

I got up early and finished packing, and now I’m just sorting out mp3 player and DS lite games, ready for the journey. We’re setting off about 3pm today. driving up to Hull where we get a ferry at 6pm over to Zeebrugge in Belgium. Tomorrow we’re driving down into France, staying at a hotel overnight, then arriving at our destination, Le Pech in the Dordogne, on Saturday afternoon. We’ve been to this particular place a few times in the past, and it’s beautiful.

I get back around the 8th of August. See you then x

Today

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

I feel stupid. Today has been a bad day. I didn’t get done half the things I wanted to, I had to go out driving for most of the day when I wanted to stay in and take photos. I feel uninspired. I don’t want to go to France tomorrow. Well okay yeah I do, I want to be in a place I can speak French. But I’m not excited. I don’t want to be stuck on a long journey with nothing to do. I’m going to miss people. I’m going to miss him. I’m going to miss home. I started packing but haven’t finished yet. Everyone’s nagging. I missed Scrubs. I’m going out to the cinema to take my mind off things. Some idiot walked out infront of my car today so I had to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting him. I haven’t finished blogging my week with Bob. I haven’t uplaoded any photos. I haven’t taken any good ones. I don’t feel like doing much. I feel tired. I hate being in a bad mood. I’m trying to cheer myself up :)

But oh well. Once this holiday’s over… then I see him again.

The days of Bob #3

Saturday, July 14th, 2007

Ah, now it gets rolling. Okay, so this is the day we’re having a mini meet-up in Leeds with other fellow Musers, such as Inn, Gem, Kev and Paul. Wince was going to come as well but she couldn’t afford it I don’t think, and Kazzie was also going to maybe drive up, but she dropped out as well which was a shame.

Anyhow, Bob, Inn and myself decided beforehand we’d go for a sushi lunch at Little Tokyo (“this Little Tokyo… just how little is it?”) today, as Bob wanted a nice meal out to celebrate his first at uni. The plan was to meet at 12 in Leeds, then head to Little Tokyo for some sushi action, lounge about for a bit until we meet the others, then the evening was bingo time!

On the train to Leeds Inn phoned to say she’d be a bit late. We asked why, and she replied “oh I set off late” haha. We were nearly at the station at this point so Bob and I bought a pack of cookies for Inn from Millie’s cookies and then we decided to go to Caffe Nero, for something to do whilst waiting, but no sooner had we settled down with drinks Inn phoned to say she was here. Bob had a frappe so he was okay, but I stupidly got myself a hot coffee to stay so we both drank it as quickly as we could, without burning our throats, and headed back to the station.

And lo and behold, we found an Inn waiting for us :D

The days of Bob #2

Friday, July 13th, 2007

Mmm woke up nice and late. Slept on the floor in my room. Lucky charms for breakfast.

This day was also spent DS-ing, though this time we got Alan involved so Bob could kick his ass at Mario Karts for me. Which he did very well, may I add. In the evening my parents had gone out somewhere so me, Bob, Alan and Ted headed off to Bradford to Annam’s, an Indian buffet place. It was goood.

We watched Die Hard 2 in the evening. I’ll get you John McClane.

Short entry x

The days of Bob #1

Thursday, July 12th, 2007

It’s finally here! Today is the day Bob is coming up north to stay with me for a week. It’s a thursday morning, I couldn’t sleep last night so I’m tired, and the house is all ready for his arrival :)

The last time I saw him was in London for the Muse weekend a few weeks ago, but after talking we decided this summer we’d spend a lot more time together. So we settled on the 12th of July for him to come and visit me, and we’d work out more dates after that. He was getting his uni results on the 11th and I had my theory test on the 10th, so the 12th was the perfect time really.

I don’t want to make this too wordy and boring so I’ll keep it brief to what happened.

I set off to Leeds in the morning about 10am to meet him at the station. Upon his arrival through the barriers he was laden with bags (most noteworthy of which was a huge carrier bag with not just one, but TWO full boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnuts). And a red rose in his hands…

We were going straight back to my house from there, so we got on the train to Halifax and we were on our way! We arrived at my house mid-afternoon to meet my mum and my two brothers. Didn’t really do a whole lot else that day to be honest, at one point we headed off walking up to the moors but it started raining so we turned back.

Bob had brought me a few presents which were very nice: the Joseph soundtrack, some Lucky Charms, some whitee malteasers and of course Krispy Kremes, though they were for everyone on Saturday (see Saturday’s blog… when it’s up) as, after all, there were 24 doughnuts!

The rest of the evening we spent DS-ing and talking mainly. We tried to set up a lovely photograph involving the rose, the phantom badge, the phantom book and Bob’s mask, but the lighting in my room ruined it. So that idea was scrapped haha. I was so happy Bob was here. So far so good!

I can now drive (in theory)!

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

Yup, I passed my theory driving test! I got 34/35 on the multiple choice theory questions (it doesn’t tell me which I got wrong which is really bugging me haha) and I got 62/75 on the hazard perception videos. To pass you need 30 and 50 in the respective parts of the test, so yay, go me. So now it’s just the real test I have to book and prepare for. Had another driving lesson this morning, Keith was pleased I’d passed my test, as I’d been putting it off for ages and ages (exams and stuff) and he was getting impatient hehe. He reckons I’ll need another few lessons for practise test routes and tidying up of maneouvres and then I might be ready to take the real test! Unfortunately I go away on holiday in a couple of weeks so it’ll have to wait til I get back from there (around august 7th-8th I think), but I guess I can wait! I just wanna pass before my birthday, so I can say it took me less than a year to learn to drive hehe (one of my friends is STILL learning and she started a good 6 months before me hehe).

Getting better, getting better.

Monday, July 9th, 2007

Right so I’m very nearly happy with this blog now. I’ve got the header sorted which was my main priority, and I think it makes a huge difference to the look and feel of the site, in a good way haha. My next priorities will be to sort out the sidebar, as in, make it look pretty and not boring like it is, and to sort out tags because at the minute they’re mixed up with categories. And it bugs me! Aaand last but not least I need to sort out a flickr badgr or flickr roll or something to put on here. That would also make it more colourful :)

Aside from the blog looking prettier, life is going gooooood as well. Today was my first day off work for a week, so I spent it mostly sleeping, DS Lite-ing, taking photos, watching daytime Scrubs on abc1 and practising some theory questions for my test tomorrow. Apart from the theory, it was a perfect day really haha. I’m really looking forward to Thursday which is when Bob is coming up, and then I’m also really looking forward to Saturday which is bingo day in Leeds, with Bob, Gem, Inn, Kev, Paul, possibly Kazzie, possibly Wince, possibly Lindsey (Kev’s sister)!

Mmm, headers!

Saturday, July 7th, 2007

Thanks to Bob the blog is now looking a lot better, with the addition of headers and subtitles! There are more of them to come (headers/subtitles that is), but yay they’re there and this blog is really on it’s way to becoming… er… something!

Enjoy :p
