Evening out with Ted, Amy and Forrest.
It is now September 1st. Happy birthday Amy. She’s incredible. One of these people who you actually wish you were. I met her three and a half years ago when I went to China (this is the point where I dig up a really old and oh so flattering photo of me aged 14 in China…). I don’t see her that often these days, so it was a nice surprise when she turned up on my door today with her friend Forrest. Yes I know what you’re thinking, I also couldn’t get this image out of my head when I met Forrest:

But he’s a really nice guy! Also from China, not sure whereabouts though. He was dead impressed with my camera; he just bought a Nikon D80 recently (urgh Nikon :P), but really liked mine. But anyhow, there I was watching my afternoon dose of Scrubs on the telly when they come in. Amy wanted to take Ted out for a meal to celebrate her birthday, and invited me too when she saw I was here. Yay. Forrest drove us to Leeds where we debated between either Red Chilli or No. 1. I was all for Red Chilli, Bob went there last week and apparantly the duck there is immense. But Amy wanted hotpot and she likes No. 1, so we went there. Twas her birthday after all.
So the meal went on. I wasn’t too impressed by the restaurant to be honest. It didn’t compare to Lucky Dragon one bit. The hotpot was pretty cool (and brought back memories of being in China), and I impressed Amy with my chopstick skills (she brought me a fork bless, but I proved I can do without! Thanks to all the sushi and Lucky Dragon time I’ve had recently haha) so all was not lost.
We drove back to Amy and Forrest’s house after the meal, where Amy and I had a goooood long catch-up about everything in our lives. She was running a small jewelery business and gave me way too much free stuff from it (like real Swarovski diamonds o_O), and she also works in an accountants full-time. All this whilst also completing her degree at uni! We made plans to meet up soon and go shopping. She said I may be bale to get a job in her office if I want for next year, which I am tempted to go for. It’s in Bradford so that’s very easy and close, plus it’ll be nice to have her there so I know someone at work
We’ll see.
