I need some silver shoes…

Monday, December 31st, 2007

Today Amy and I went shopping to Leeds, maybe catch the end of the sales and just a general catch-up since we don’t see each other that often anymore. And and and. I bought myself a dress! It’s little and black and pretty and it looks SO good. I never ever usually buy dresses, but I wanted something smart for Bob’s graduation ceremony next week, and I found this in the shops.

I’m not going to post a picture (yet) cos I can’t show what it looks like, going to be a surprise next week for Bob and all :) But ooh I love it. It fits so perfectly and I think it looks great. I tried it on again when I got home to double make sure it’s okay (I always do this with clothes) and it’s just so comfortable and pretty I could wear it all day every day. I wish.

I just tried it on again. God I love it. Maybe I should start wearing dresses more? Comfy dress! I’m not doing anything fancy for New Years, going out briefly to a friend-of-the-family’s house, then coming back before midnight, but I feel like dressing up in the dress when I get back home, so I can start the New Year in STYLE.

Hmm.

Weekend in London - Day 4

Monday, December 31st, 2007

Final day!

Hmm will probably be a short entry, cos it was a short day. Bob was working today (I booked it off, obviously, mmm my first non-working day since I started (except obviously weekends)), and my train was a daytime one, 11.10, so we got up nice and early, and set off for the tube. Was about half 8 or so, therefore morning rush hour and therefore packed tubes. Hehe was kind of fun. I’m such a tourist :(

Weekend in London - Day 3

Monday, December 31st, 2007

And Day 3 :)

After the last 2 days of rushing around and keeping busy and all, it was nice to spend today relaxing and unwinding. We were meeting up with Bob’s friends Jason and Rachel today for some yum yum dim sum in town in the afternoon, which would be cool no doubt. I craved this food.

We had a lazy morning. Neither of us felt like getting up early, and I kept doing the whole microsleeps thing, you wake up for a minute or so, then go back to sleep again immediately, and again, and again. Eventually we crawled out of bed a little after 12pm, mainly cos we realised we were due to be meeting Jason and Rachel at 1pm haha. Rush. But luckily y’know, we’re not the kind of people who spend aaages getting ready. Well, not too long anyhow.

As it happens we were slightly late, but we were still there first. We met them at East Putney station and it was chucking it down (again). We didn’t linger and went straight to the restaurant, the Royal China. I guess it’s a good sign when a restaurant has a slight queue of people inside waiting for tables. Fortunately it wasn’t so long that it extended outside in the cold and rain, and despite the slight queue, we didn’t have to wait long at all for a table either. We got a nice round one with a parachuting Santa above it :)

Weekend in London - Day 2

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

On Saturday, Day 2 of my weekend in London, lots of things went wrong. Lots of good things happened as well, and I had a great day, but y’know, things didn’t go exactly as planned…

We were due to meet Max and co in central London at 2pm. Now, okay, 2pm isn’t exactly the crack of dawn, but we had gone to sleep about 4 or 5am, me and Bob were exhausted from a week of work, and we had a full breakfast to cook and eat before we could set off! We got up maybe half 10, 11ish, Bob and Stu battled it out on Smash Bros while I feel asleep again on the sofa. They dragged Kazzie out of bed about 12, and we set to cooking brekkie. I think we only finished eating about 2pm haha.

Weekend in London - Day 1

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

So last weekend we had arranged a little gathering to celebrate Stu’s birthday, and since it was in London and all twas the perfect excuse to extend it to last a nice four days to spend some quality time with Bob :) We’re both working full-time now so our time together gets a bit crippled, but it’s very very very fine.

I took advantage of my flexitime option at work and took Friday afternoon and the following Monday (03/12) off work, and booked me some nice cheap train tickets down south for a weekend with the boyfriend :)

Ace. Let’s get cracking.

Happy birthday Inn!

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

Saturday 22nd 2007, two days before her birthday, we decided to have a mini-meet in Leeds for some birthday sushi action. Initially we were going to et a huge sushi platter from Sisushi, as Inn gets a yummy 20% off for being a member. But we couldn’t decide which one to get. Did we go all out and get the Deluxe platter with 70 pieces? Or Sushi Party 2 with 78? There were 4 (possibly 5) of us…

We got to Sisushi about half 2, still unsure of which to get. We were getting it take-out, then driving to Kev’s house to eat it, so we spent ages still deciding. I can’t remember who suggested it, but it came up… why only get one? Why not TWO?

A good point. Lindsay was now going to join in so that made it 5 of us, and if we bought 2 platters the price was little different than buying one. Sooo for £12 each we bought 105 pieces of sushi: Sushi Party 2 platter and Zero-Fish platter. It was amazing!

Evening out with Ted, Amy and Forrest.

Saturday, September 1st, 2007

It is now September 1st. Happy birthday Amy. She’s incredible. One of these people who you actually wish you were. I met her three and a half years ago when I went to China (this is the point where I dig up a really old and oh so flattering photo of me aged 14 in China…). I don’t see her that often these days, so it was a nice surprise when she turned up on my door today with her friend Forrest. Yes I know what you’re thinking, I also couldn’t get this image out of my head when I met Forrest:

Leeds Festival 2007

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

My first time at Leeds festival. There were good bits, there were bad bits, there were some amazing and unforgettable bits. But half hour guitar/bass jams after every single song is Boring with a capital B. Mr Frusciante and Mr Flea, please take note.

Despite wearing suncream I still ended up very sunburnt and sore and red, but luckily the weather cooled down slightly towards the end of the weekend. No rain though :) The toilets were gross but what can you expect. I stole Bob’s DSLR on the friday for some photo action… the other days I used my compact, didn’t want to risk bringing the 30D to the festival.
