London time (January 10th - 14th)

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

Right so I spent last weekend the weekend before last in London with the lovely Bob. I say weekend, it was more of a longgg weekend. I went down on Thursday night, straight after work, and came back Monday daytime. So really, that’s 5 days I got to see him for! :D

I’m not going to blog out each day as before because it is: a) rather tiresome; and b) not that interesting. Instead I’ll do an overview of what we managed to get up to. Nice and succinct.

Here I am sitting on a stone thing in a pond outside the Barbican.

L’art et le plaisir de vivre

Saturday, January 19th, 2008

6th April 2008

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

It is the day I am leaving.

I feel a bit scared and a bit worried and a bit nervous, but also incredibly excited and impatient. I know this is the right thing to do. I know that there will be times where I will panic and think I’ll want to call it all off, and I will think wtf am I doing, I can’t go travel all around European countries all by MYSELF for a few months, what if something bad happens, what if something goes wrong, I am all alone in a foreign country. It makes me feel very small.

But I know this is the right thing to do. It’s an opportunity. I have 5 months of absolute freedom, starting in April. I finish work around March 23rd, start uni in mid-September. And inbetween? Nothing, no commitments, no duties. So I see this as a true opportunity to get out there and do something. Travel many countries. That’s it. Yes it’s a bit scary and a lot to handle, but that’s life. It would be incredibly and utterly stupid to waste this perfect time. I have the money to fund it, I have the means to fund it, and most of all, I have the will to fund it. I want to do this so badly. You have to take some chances in life. This is one of mine.

2007 - A Year In Photos.

Friday, January 4th, 2008

One year ago I embarked on a photo project which would last the whole year. It’s nothing special or fancy or original: I would simply take a photo every day to ‘represent’ that day (or something) and create an album of (eventually) 365 images.

Last week I completed this. I honestly cannot believe a whole year has gone by already. It’s flown by, it really has. I am so so proud of my achievement and of the collection as a whole. It’s been great fun along the way and I’ve had an amazing time capturing a year of my life in photos. It is at this point where I would like to thank my friends who have supported me so much all the way through this project. In particular, Bob, Nic, and Inn have been there since the very start and have left me countless comments and feedback on my photos. And special thanks to Bob and Inn for featuring in this project a couple of times ;)

Here is a selection of some of my personal favourites from the project. Enjoy!

I need some silver shoes…

Today Amy and I went shopping to Leeds, maybe catch the end of the sales and just a general catch-up since we don’t see each other that often anymore. And and and. I bought myself a dress! It’s little and black and pretty and it looks SO good. I never ever usually buy dresses, but I wanted something smart for Bob’s graduation ceremony next week, and I found this in the shops.

I’m not going to post a picture (yet) cos I can’t show what it looks like, going to be a surprise next week for Bob and all :) But ooh I love it. It fits so perfectly and I think it looks great. I tried it on again when I got home to double make sure it’s okay (I always do this with clothes) and it’s just so comfortable and pretty I could wear it all day every day. I wish.

I just tried it on again. God I love it. Maybe I should start wearing dresses more? Comfy dress! I’m not doing anything fancy for New Years, going out briefly to a friend-of-the-family’s house, then coming back before midnight, but I feel like dressing up in the dress when I get back home, so I can start the New Year in STYLE.

Hmm.

Weekend in London - Day 4

Monday, December 31st, 2007

Final day!

Hmm will probably be a short entry, cos it was a short day. Bob was working today (I booked it off, obviously, mmm my first non-working day since I started (except obviously weekends)), and my train was a daytime one, 11.10, so we got up nice and early, and set off for the tube. Was about half 8 or so, therefore morning rush hour and therefore packed tubes. Hehe was kind of fun. I’m such a tourist :(

Weekend in London - Day 3

Monday, December 31st, 2007

And Day 3 :)

After the last 2 days of rushing around and keeping busy and all, it was nice to spend today relaxing and unwinding. We were meeting up with Bob’s friends Jason and Rachel today for some yum yum dim sum in town in the afternoon, which would be cool no doubt. I craved this food.

We had a lazy morning. Neither of us felt like getting up early, and I kept doing the whole microsleeps thing, you wake up for a minute or so, then go back to sleep again immediately, and again, and again. Eventually we crawled out of bed a little after 12pm, mainly cos we realised we were due to be meeting Jason and Rachel at 1pm haha. Rush. But luckily y’know, we’re not the kind of people who spend aaages getting ready. Well, not too long anyhow.

As it happens we were slightly late, but we were still there first. We met them at East Putney station and it was chucking it down (again). We didn’t linger and went straight to the restaurant, the Royal China. I guess it’s a good sign when a restaurant has a slight queue of people inside waiting for tables. Fortunately it wasn’t so long that it extended outside in the cold and rain, and despite the slight queue, we didn’t have to wait long at all for a table either. We got a nice round one with a parachuting Santa above it :)

This next week :)

Right I’m about to go to bed but I’m so excited about the week ahead! Here’s why:

Bob is coming tomorrow to stay for a week. This is the Main Excitement. But tomorrow will be awesome during the day as well before he gets here. Firstly I’m going into College in the morning, tis the Language Dept annual cake competition, and a lot of people from my old classes will be there yay. After that I shall be taking a train straight to Leeds where I will bus it up to Lucy’s flat. Well actually I will take the bus to Subway where she will give me FREE SUBS and THREE ice cream scoops of tuna in my sandwich. Love her.

Weekend in London - Day 1

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

So last weekend we had arranged a little gathering to celebrate Stu’s birthday, and since it was in London and all twas the perfect excuse to extend it to last a nice four days to spend some quality time with Bob :) We’re both working full-time now so our time together gets a bit crippled, but it’s very very very fine.

I took advantage of my flexitime option at work and took Friday afternoon and the following Monday (03/12) off work, and booked me some nice cheap train tickets down south for a weekend with the boyfriend :)

Ace. Let’s get cracking.
